Click Next. In the Configuration window, I always like to take the Custom option. Now we need to decide where disk storage will be allocated to hold the configuration and operating files for the virtual machine. Because the CD drive is not attached to the virtual machine yet, it may attempt to boot from the network or it may be showing an Operating system not found or some other error. As per screenshot below the pfSense installer recognized two network cards vmx0, vmx1. Both are working and ready to be associated to a network eg.
